The 2023 St. Joe's United Way Campaign is underway from November 16-30!
It’s time again to show your #LocalLove
Thank you St. Joe’s for all the support you’ve provided over the years to the United Way Halton and Hamilton. The United Way supports essential program and services for the most vulnerable people right here in Hamilton!
This year, our goal is $25,000. We are asking you to consider supporting your local United Way through a Payroll Deduction. Even a few dollars each pay makes a huge difference in supporting our patients and neighbours. Last year, we hit our goal and were awarded the 2023 Champions of Change Award from the United Way as a result! Let’s do it again this year St. Joe’s!
If you’re sign up for a payroll deduction during the month of November (or are already enrolled), your name will be automatically entered into a draw that could have you winning great prizes from our wonderful local sponsors:

How to make your donation (Note: It’s super easy!)
- Point and Click – You should receive an email from the United Way on November 16th, 22nd and 29th. Just point and click and follow the instructions on the email and you’ll be set up to begin a payroll deduction.
- You can also fill out this form and email the completed form to PayrollChanges@stjoes.ca.
- You can also make a one-time donation or an ongoing donation via credit card by clicking here and click the 'Donate Now' button at the top of the page. Be sure to click the 'My Gift is a part of a workplace campaign' and enter 'St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton'

Gift Card Survivor
Can you Outwit, Outplay and Outshop to win HUNDREDS of DOLLARS in gift cards? Then sign up for Gift Card Survivor where you could win a HUGE cache of gift cards - right in time for the holidays! All you do is pay $40 (with $20 entrance fee and a $20 gift card of your choice). Once you enroll, you’ll be signed up to Outwit, Outplay and Outshop your colleagues in competing with one another to win a treasure trove of gift cards while supporting our UW campaign along the way.

Deadline to sign up, pay and donate gift card is November 30th. Buy one-time Immunity for an additional $10 and have your name returned into the draw one time only. If you wish to enter, more than once, you will still be required to pay $40 ($20 entrance fee and $20 gift card).
Names to be "voted off" will be drawn daily at 12pm with videos emailed out to participants. The games start on December 4th with the final grand prize draw on December 8th. This was a lot of fun last year and hope for more people to join this year.
Pizza Day at St. Joe’s
On November 29th, help "Raise Dough" for the St. Joe's United Way Campaign by ordering some delicious pizza from participating Domino’s Pizza locations.
You'll be able to order a large 3-topping pizza for only $12. With each pizza ordered, $5 will be donated to the St. Joe’s United Way Campaign!!

Smile Cookies
From November 13-19th, if you buy a Holiday Smile Cookie at a St. Joe’s Tim Hortons, 100% of the proceeds will go to our St. Joe’s United Way Campaign.
Where Your Support Goes:
We know that life is getting harder for the most vulnerable people in our community. By supporting the United Way, you are supporting a network of 106 front-line social programs serving over one hundred thousand people and help transform our community into something better. When individuals come forward for help, they are often accessing multiple programs. By donating to United Way, you will invest in:
- 21,916 Seniors to improve their wellness and sense of belonging.
- 49,269 Children and youth access basic needs and positive influences.
- 15,144 Women who face barriers to inclusion and prosperity.
A donation of any amount makes a difference. Here are a few examples of what your support can do:
- $100 provides 1 victim of human trafficking 3.5 hours of support by a police/court worker.
- $250 provides 250 safe, healthy snacks or meals to ensure student academic success.
- $1,200 ($100/month makes you a Leadership donor) provides 120 individuals with clothing appropriate for interviews and work activities.
