Make A Difference

In addition to serving the needs of those in our community St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton (SJHH) is also committed to supporting our local and international communities.  Beyond our role as an exemplary and compassionate patient care provider to the Hamilton region and surrounding areas, SJHH and its employees are also committed to supporting local and international initiatives that direct medical personnel, supplies and equipment to communities in need.

The St. Joseph’s International Outreach Program (IOP) was founded in 1986 and officially incorporated as a distinct division of the St. Joseph’s Health System in 2010.  As a registered Canadian charity we focus on building healthcare capacity in developing nations through training, education and material support.  With this focus we help our in-country partners strengthen their health systems and improve clinical outcomes.

The IOP is a tangible example of our commitment to help those who are marginalized and gives us the opportunity to work side-by-side with dedicated, compassionate partners who share our vision and mission to serve those in need. Our current projects are located in Uganda, Haiti and Guyana.  Please click here to learn more about our work.
