The 2022 St. Joe's United Way Campaign has wrapped up!
United Way Champions of Change
Congratulations to Brian Cooper, Manager of the Cleghorn Early Intervention Clinic who has been recognized by United Way Halton and Hamilton as a Champions of Change Award recipient. The honour is presented for outstanding leadership by campaign champions who have shown dedication, passion and tenacity, and an ability to inspire their colleagues to get involved & give back.
Brian was nominated because he embodies so many of these attributes. As leader of St. Joseph’s United Way campaign cabinet, Brian garnered funds by hosting trivia games at lunch and creating an amazing music video to help promote the 2022/2023 campaign.
His efforts, along with all campaign volunteers helped United Way Halton and Hamilton raise $11,000,000 that will go toward key issues facing our community.
Congratulations to Brian and everyone who supported this year’s endeavour.

Message from the President & The SJHH United Way Committee
For all of us working in healthcare, we are well aware that it has been a remarkably difficult past two and a half years. We have faced countless challenges together and seen firsthand the impact of this pandemic on those whom we serve each and every day. Yet, today, we are now facing a secondary crisis - an economic crisis - which is compounding the aftermath of the health pandemic and is placing debilitating pressure on individuals, households and the very programs that support our community in Hamilton and beyond. We are all navigating great uncertainty together. The reality is, we are anticipating even more people in #HamOnt needing help – especially to cope with providing basic needs.
In recent years, many of us at St. Joe’s have stepped up to show our local love for our community by donating to our local United Way. We want to offer our thanks to those of you who have contributed over the years. Your contributions have shown how much you care about our neighbours and families in most need.
Today we are asking you to come together with your colleagues and peers to show how much St. Joe’s cares about our community by supporting the 2022 St. Joe’s United Way campaign. By signing up for a payroll deduction or a one-time donation and supporting hundreds of programs used by thousands of our friends and neighbours, you can lend a hand to the most vulnerable citizens right here at home.
This will be a critical year in our community and, just like all of us at St. Joe’s, your United Way is fully committed to leading a way forward with our community. The only way to meet urgent needs in our community is by working together, united. Together we are stronger.
Thank you,
Melissa Farrell, President & the SJHH United Way Committee
